Was looking for a place for my 15 year old daughter. Individual therapy wasn’t enough but she didn’t “qualify” for any type of residential care. Insurance was no help at all because they give you a list of crisis centers which isn’t what she needed. I stumbled across True Health and am so glad I did. The group therapy really made an impact and the team worked with the parents as well so that we could support her. She did the outpatient therapy for about 3 months and made huge leaps and can recover quickly from any setbacks. I am so grateful to Andrew and Team.

True Health does a great job getting kids to connect and open up. They make the experience something my child was eager to be a part of while giving her skills and techniques to better handle challenges.

I couldn’t be happier with how my daughter was treated in this center. The facility is top notch! The entire staff is professional, courteous and knowledgeable. You can trust them to assess and treat your child with respect. No judgement, no shame, just compassion to want to help teens feel better. They are always available and responsive to all questions and concerns regarding treatment from admissions to discharge. I wish I could find some criticism to help them to get better, but I honestly can't think of anything that they could have done differently or better for my daughter. Thank you true health for giving back my lovely daughter.

True Health - Center for Emotional Wellness a wonderful clinic and I recommend to anyone who is serious in getting help. My son was diagnosed with deep depression at the age of 14 and with the help of the whole team my son is depression free now. True Health offered my son "Intensive Outpatient Program" which lasted 8 weeks from 3 to 6pm every day. The team showed a lot of care and compassion; they are also very knowledgeable and outstanding professionals. They were able to help my son to be happy again. Their therapies are efficient and works. As a mother, I can tell that seeing my son recovered is priceless! Thank You True Health for the amazing help you provided for our family.

Anxiety

Anxiety is a condition in which an individual experiences a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease in their everyday lives. This can manifest as panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, phobias, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Untreated adolescent anxiety can easily cause interference in everyday life as well as relationships. Learn more about Anxiety.

Depression

Depression in teens is a mood disorder that affects many aspects of a person’s life. The disorder can manifest as symptoms of persistent sadness, hopelessness, loss of interest, as well as a lack of energy. Because everyone can experience these at times, symptoms must be consistent for a two-week period to be diagnosed with depression in adolescence. Learn more about Depression.

Trauma

Individual trauma can result from events or situations that cause emotional or physical harm to an individual. For many adolescents, this teen trauma can come from demands to school, bullying from peers, or family distress.

Teen and Young Adult trauma is not always easy to recognize or diagnose, as trauma does not need to be tied to or triggered by a specific event. While one kind of trauma can be tied to a specific event, others may result from multiple incidents that can’t always be pinpointed to specific instances. Learn more about Trauma.

Grief and Loss

Grief and loss is emotional suffering or distress caused by loss or regret. It’s typically used to refer to the feeling of sorrow and loss from the death of a loved one. With grief for adolescents and young adults, harm or distress may come from losing something or someone. Learn more about grief and loss.

Relationship Conflicts

Relationship conflict is a disagreement between people that can cause significant stress. It can range from small disagreements to major differences in beliefs. These conflicts can be between your parents, siblings, teachers, or friends.

Learning the proper skills to discuss and process these conflicts is important. Long-term conflicts can cause severe stress, anxiety, and depression. Our therapists can show you proper conflict resolution skills and deescalate the conflict in a healthy and productive way. Learn more about Relationship Conflicts.

Social Isolation

Social isolation is when one feels like an outcast to society and may have lost sight of their self-worth. Because of these feelings, adolescents will cope by separating themselves from society and normal social interactions. Learn more about Solcial Isolation.

Mood Disorders or Swings

Mood disorders are general emotional states or moods that are distorted or inconsistent with circumstances and interfere with an individual’s ability to function. Teenage mood swings may be mood disorders, although the cause of adolescent mood disorders is not well known. Learn more about Mood Disorders or Swings.

Difficulty Functioning at School

It can be both frustrating and disheartening when your adolescent is having trouble functioning at school. It is difficult for both the teen and young adult and their parents. Grades may slip, they may have trouble focusing or acting properly, and they may have less interest or worse performance in sports or other after-school activities.

There can be a lot of things going on in the mind of an adolescent and young adult that contribute to this problem. It can result from problems with family and friends, or just be the heightened emotions in general that teenagers experience.

The important thing to note is that treatment is possible and may help or alleviate the problem. It’s normal, and help is available, so you and your adolescent or young adult don’t have to struggle alone. Learn more about Difficulty Functioning at School.

Inability to Focus

The inability to focus can heavily impact your life. Concentration difficulties can be related to difficulty staying awake, impulsiveness, intrusive thoughts or concerns, overactivity, or inattention. However, they can be caused by medical, cognitive, or psychological problems. Learn more about the Inability to Focus.

PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a disorder that is caused by experiencing a traumatic event or series of events. A diagnosis requires exposure to an upsetting traumatic event. However, the exposure could be indirect rather than firsthand.

This can stem from childhood traumas, bullying, natural disasters, or other events that disrupt the normal life of an adolescent or young adult. The impacts of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder can be incredibly disruptive to life and can cause the affected person to withdraw from things they previously enjoyed. Learn More about PTSD.
