True Health Center for Emotional Wellness featured on Great Day Live, WTSP 10 Tampa Bay.

We recently had the privilege of being featured on the popular morning show, Great Day Live, on WTSP 10 Tampa Bay. The spotlight was on our ongoing work at the True Health Center for Emotional Wellness, where we passionately strive to cater to the mental health needs of teens and young adults in the Tampa and Brandon regions.

As we’re in the thick of summer, it’s a commonly held belief that this season brings about relaxation, renewal, and a significant decrease in stress levels, particularly for our young ones. With school on pause, sunshine aplenty, and ample leisure time, it would seem that our teens are on an unwinding spree, right? However, the reality can often be startlingly different.

Contrary to this popular notion, summer can actually present a host of challenges for many adolescents. With the routine structure of school and the supportive presence of counselors and teachers missing, several young individuals can find themselves wrestling with feelings of isolation, loneliness, and heightened stress. It’s natural for parents to think that the end of the school year equates to an end of stress for their kids. But in reality, the nature of challenges may change; they rarely disappear entirely.

During the Great Day Live segment, our Board Certified Psychiatrist, Alison Larson, delved deep into the various personalized programs we offer at our center. These include services from one-on-one counseling and group sessions to family therapy. She elaborated on how we support and work with teens and young adults, not just during the summer but across the entire year.

Interestingly, the summer season might actually offer a more conducive environment for kids to seek help. With lesser academic obligations, they generally have more time to focus on their emotional wellness. Summer may pose its unique challenges, but with the right support, it doesn’t have to be tough.

Our dedicated team of mental health professionals proudly serve our communities from our centers located in Westchase, Tampa (University), and Brandon, FL.
