Grief is a very powerful emotion and can interfere with every aspect of life. When anyone, especially an adolescent, has lost someone near and dear to them, they may feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of emotion they are experiencing. Adolescents are young and have thus not had much experience dealing with emotions such as grief. It can be difficult, frustrating, and confusing to navigate through these complex emotions. That’s why our team of experts is professionally trained and experienced to help adolescents process and deal with their grief in a healthy way. 

There is nothing wrong with experiencing grief. It is a natural and healthy response to losing a loved one that nearly all human beings will experience at some point. It is nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about, and it is not in itself a mental illness. However, that does not mean you or your adolescent must deal with it all on their own or that it needs to impact quality of life. Grief can interfere with an adolescent’s abilities in school and extracurricular activities.  It can also contribute to the interpersonal conflict that may occur between family and friends.
